Ae’s Sassy Tacos& Ae’s Thai Kitchen (808) 446-1502

Menus at the food truck in Hāna, MauiFive menus, three trucks.

Tacos and nachos, Ae’s Thai Kitchen, mahi-mahi plates, burgers and a vegan board, from three family trucks in one Hāna lot. The chalkboards have the final word.

How it works

Pick a truck, eat under the trees.

Three trucks share one lot near the Hana Ranch Store: the red taco trailer, the red Ae’s Thai Kitchen truck and the white burger truck.

Read the chalkboards, order at the window you want, and grab a picnic table under the shade trees.

Menus change with what is on hand, so the boards out front are the final word. Prices are on the boards too.

For a group, beef broccoli stir-fry comes by the full pan or half pan.

We had the Mahi-mahi fish tacos and shrimp tacos and both were amazing. Makes my top 10 list for fish tacos from all our travels

Not sure why this place doesn’t have better ratings. This was the best food we had on Maui. The Mahi Mahi nachos were incredible. Wish it wasn’t so far; would have gotten it every day of the trip.

Nachos are absurd. So GOOD. Thankfully we stopped by when coming back from Pipiwai Trail. Must try!!

Their tacos are the best! They were so full of flavor, their fish was cooked perfect and the sauce they put on was so good!! their staff and service was also great! I would definitely come back next time I’m in Hawaii

As a San Diego native, I felt kind of silly ordering tacos in Hawaii. Like, we have world class tacos on every corner back home, why not try something different out here? But the two taco plate was probably the cheapest lunch option in the food truck area, and I was craving some mahi. I ended up doing one mahi and one shrimp, on corn. Served up with lime and fresh jalapeno slices, they hit the spot before we headed to Waiʻānapanapa. Honestly, the grilled mahi was good, but that shrimp taco might have been the best thing I’ve eaten on Maui -- and that includes the dinner we had at Banyan Tree. I’m still thinking about it a day later, and kinda bummed it’s so far away from our spot in Lahaina. Shoutout to the duo working the grill -- they were good vibes to match the good food.

We tried this Mexican food truck and ordered nachos and the taco salad bowl. The portions were solid and everything was fresh, flavorful, and really filling.

The nachos were loaded with toppings including cheese, guacamole, hot sauce, sour cream, with plenty of chicken. The taco bowl was also a nice choice with a good mix of vegetables, protein, and served in a crispy shell that gave it a fun crunch.

Overall, the food was tasty and satisfying, definitely worth a quick stop if you’re passing by.
